Seriously runners, take a look at this system. I'm trying it and it works. I've ran for nearly 32 years but didn't do much running for about the last 7 years. When I started running again I was shocked at how much speed I had lost. For the last year I decided to pick up my mileage again. For eight months I ran 30 to 40 miles per week but my speed didn't increase.

Then I heard about the Race Rx system. After doing it for 5 weeks my speed is increasing. I'm running a lot less but my speed is getting a lot faster. Try the program. It is inexpensive and you'll find the workouts enjoyable and challenging.

Started training with race rx about 8 weeks before I tried my 1st half. It was incredible, I've taken off over 1 minute per mile from my previous 5k pace, even though this was a much longer run. Love the cardio program and encouragement from Shanna. I would recommend this program to anyone that is interested in running. Looking forward to many more years of running.

Melissa, look for high-carb, low fat foods. Breads (hold the butter), pastas and fruits are all good choices. Look for our runner nutritional series coming to the blog in September!

I think that it runners should definitely do strength training along with Race-Rx cardio. I know that it's made me a stronger runner, and until now I've never been able to explain why. A lot of good points. Especially the over all heath benefits. I want to be able to run for many years and not just have a few good years and then be burned out.

I started having knee problems in sixth grade playing baseball. I thought I got the problem fixed until I started running in my 20's.

When I start putting in 20 or miles a week my knee starts to bother me. I found if I do weight training on my quads I don't have problems with my knee. It seems the quads get weak running or the hamstrings get to strong and my knee starts giving me pain. By strengthening my quads with weight training the pain goes away. I've been running over 30 years and I'm a firm believer in weight training.
